Terms of Service — ScanScript

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using ScanScript. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.

  1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing or using ScanScript you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree please do not use the app.

  1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

ScanScript is a mobile application that converts scanned PDFs and images into editable text using on-device optical character recognition (OCR) technology powered by Apple's Vision framework. Features include PDF and image to text conversion, live camera document scanning, document edge detection and correction, multi page document scanning, text export in TXT and RTF formats, and scan history.

  1. FREE CONVERSIONS

New users receive 5 free document conversions upon installing the app. These free conversions are available immediately upon install, do not expire over time, cannot be transferred to another user, will not be reset or refunded once used, apply to one conversion per document scan, and are available without any payment or account.

  1. SUBSCRIPTION

After using your 5 free conversions continued use of ScanScript requires an active subscription. The subscription is priced at $4.99 per month, billed monthly through Apple App Store, and includes unlimited document conversions, full scan history access, and auto renews unless cancelled.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months. All refund requests must be directed to Apple. We do not process refunds directly. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund from Apple.

  1. CAMERA USAGE

ScanScript uses your device camera solely for the purpose of scanning documents. You agree to only scan documents you own or have permission to scan, not use the camera feature to capture images of people without their consent, and comply with all applicable laws regarding document scanning and photography.

  1. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree to use ScanScript only for lawful purposes. You must not use the app to scan or process documents you do not have the right to access, violate any applicable laws or regulations, infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, attempt to reverse engineer or modify the app, or circumvent the subscription system.

  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

ScanScript and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

  1. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

ScanScript is provided on an as is and as available basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error free or uninterrupted, OCR results will be 100% accurate, the app will meet your specific requirements, or camera edge detection will work on all document types. OCR accuracy depends on the quality of the scanned document or image provided.

  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of ScanScript. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, inaccurate OCR results, and camera or scanning errors.

  1. CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

  1. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
